About Coffee Routines
Coffee Routines exists for one reason: most people own decent coffee gear and still drink disappointing coffee. Not because they lack talent, but because the advice online is either aimed at competition baristas or written by someone who has never touched a scale.
Every guide we publish is brewed, timed and tasted in an ordinary home kitchen before it goes live. If a technique only works with a $2,000 machine, we say so.
How we test
Equipment is tested for at least two weeks of daily use. We measure grind consistency, retention, temperature stability and how annoying something is to clean — because the last one decides whether you actually keep using it.
We buy most of what we review. When a brand sends something, we label it clearly. We use affiliate links, and they never influence a rating or a ranking.
The team
Maya Okonkwo
Head of Brewing
Former specialty café lead barista who now spends her mornings testing recipes on a very crowded kitchen counter.
Daniel Ferro
Gear Editor
Has taken apart more grinders than he'd like to admit. Reviews equipment with a stopwatch, a scale and zero brand loyalty.
